Great article! Would love to hear more about microbial collection and seed treatments.

I also wonder what this means for best practices for seed storage. Are there ways to better preserve inherited microbes on stored seeds? Would be interesting to explore.

Always informative. Would this explain why the seeds I collect from my own garden seem to produce stronger plants and more abundant fruit? Just curious.

Wow. Very scientific. I need to reread this a few times.

I’m sure it explains how the plant I’m trying to propagate in my yard by hand seeding, transplanting seedlings around my garden, isn’t nearly as productive as my next door neighbors technique. They don’t want alyssum in their lawn, but have volunteer baby alyssum plants popping up left and right at triple the amount in my garden. Do you think it’s something microbial?

Really good stuff, would be curious to follow up on microbial inheritance protocols in breeding cycles.
